A La Palma holiday home in upscale rustic style with pool and Atlantic view

Finca Arecida is a beautiful traditional Canarian house in typical construction with thick stone walls, as they are rarely found today.

The original part of the house is more than 100 years old and looks back on a long family tradition. You will experience a unique holiday experience in this house, which cannot be compared with modern houses.

110sqm of living space with two bedrooms and two bathrooms comfortably accommodate four people. The large plot invites you to spend time outdoors in a mild climate all year round.

Notice:

Road works started in the municipality of Tijarafe at the beginning of February 2023. The works on the LP1 extend over 7.6 km. Curves will be straightened, narrow passages widened and three bridges are planned. The duration of the work is currently planned for four years, and there may be disruptions due to the construction work during this time and beyond. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when work will be carried out in which sections.

The house has many historical details, such as an original Canarian stone threshing floor (era) and a water well (aljibe).

It is said that some of the threshing floors were already built by the indigenous people of La Palma, the Benahoaritas. The old Canarian stone walls store heat in winter, and in summer, thanks to them, the house is pleasantly temperate and not too hot, so you don't need air conditioning. Another special feature is the handmade heartwood roof, which is over 100 years old.

The centre of the house is the large living/dining area.

It is divided by a large former wooden chest. The kitchen with hatch is well equipped and fits into the rustic overall picture. In the house you can see a old bread oven typical of the canarian country houses. For safety reasons of the guests it is closed for use. The large covered terrace with dining area in front of the house invites you to enjoy the first rays of the sun while having breakfast outside.

The kitchen hallway leads to one of the bedrooms with a French double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower/WC and a view of the pool and garden. On the other side of the living area is the other bedroom with two twin beds. The en-suite bathroom has a double washbasin and shower tray.

The heatable pool and the pergola with dining area and impressive sea view promise many pleasant hours.

Of course, a barbecue is also available here. There is plenty of space for sunbathing around the pool. Organic fruit is grown in the garden. The large property is fenced in. 

Arecida is a district of Tijarafe, on the west side of La Palma

The area is characterised by unspoilt nature and offers many excursion destinations, e.g. the Pirate's Bay below Tijarafe or the ascent to Roque de los Muchachos.

There are also good shopping facilities in Tijarafe, with a supermarket, a health food shop and other small shops. There is a good pizzeria, various bars or a kiosco for a coffee or snack in between. After another eight minutes you reach Puntagorda, where a nice market, the Mercadillo, takes place on Saturdays and Sundays. Between Tijarafe and Puntagorda is the Muralla lookout restaurant.

The beach at Tazacorte is about 15 minutes away and the largest town on the west side, Los Llanos, about 25 minutes.
